I am in the similar situation, any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Matt.
I have been working for Company A which was bought under the Umbrella of a bigger parent. My company A still operates under the same name and is fairly independent.
The parent company bought another company B recently and have asked me move to B for business reasons in a similar role as with company A. Could I file a new GC with B and use my 10+ years experience with A to file for under EB2. I am currently under EB3-I category
Thanks,
Matt.

My LCA appl has a priority date of June 2004; and so far, Dallas BEC has lost my resent-appl twice. Lawyers failed to retrieve any status after that, and suggested a congressional liaison enquiry into it. If anybody is aware of this enquiry, would you plz let me know? Thanx.

Guys,
I sent my 485/ead/ap filing fee as one cashiers check.
This Cashiers check was created in end of June 2007 ( generaly validity till Sept 07 (90 days). Application was mailed in end of July by Attorney.
Now based on general application process, i am worried about my cashiers check being invalid before USCIS cashes the check and they may cancel the application.
Has anyone else had such an issue, & what is solution to this problem.
Please suggest.

All,
I had posted some queries previously and thanks to all who took time to respond.
As I had said before , I have an admission to study for my MBA outside US for one year. Here is the latest update:
I was thinking I will get a one year leave abscence from my employer ( advt on the website), but apparently they dont support studies as part of the deal.
So i am out of luck;
Considering my situation what do you gurus recommend.
How can I leave US yet maintain my GC process.
My I-140 is approved
Situation:
Spouse in school Full time Studies on I-485 pending. ( entered on F1 then converted to I485..... so going back to F1 is impossible)..
I want her status to be preserved.
My thought:
Resign from my company when I need to leave. Convince them that I will return. Maintain no ties with the company for one year..basically can be compared to being jobless for one year.
and then get a letter that a future similar job will be available with the same Co. ( that sponsored my GC)...
Is this feasible ./practical?

A LCA has to be filed prior to your working at a new location. Make sure to file it ASAP. It's a simple procedure to follow.

* The expiration date of an approved labor certification depends on when it was approved.
* For labor certifications approved prior to July 16, 2007, the labor certification expires 180 days after July 16, 2007 – that is, January 12, 2008– unless filed prior to its expiration with the Department of Homeland Security in support of a Form I-140 immigrant petition for alien worker.
* Labor certifications approved on or after July 16, 2007, will expire 180 days from their date of issue, unless filed prior to expiration with the Department of Homeland Security in support of a Form I-140 immigrant petition.

Hi All,
I used the AR-11 form for the change of my address. I did it online. Also, while changing there is an option to change the address for any pending petition. In my case it is the I-485, which I changed.
My question is, how to verify if the address has actually changed in the system at USCIS. I checked my case status online and did not see any LUD's.
Please let me know if anyone of you have done the change of address and share your experience.
Thanks!!!
Call the 1-800 number and navigate to an rep via the POJ method.. You can verify you address with them.

My wife and I, and the group I helped to start, American Families United (http://americanfamiliesunited.org), was featured in this story in the New York Times here:

Hi Randall
I have read about you in some articles in the media. I can appreciate the frustration you might be facing with the backlog affecting your wife's green card.
I think as a citizen your efforts carry more weight than immigrants. Also you can reach out to more citizens.
I also signed up for the pledge drive. Too bad it didn't work out. However I really appreciate your efforts for taking up this issue.

Hi,
I am leaving company A to join Company B. My first 3 year term of H1 is expiring with company A soon in the next 6 months.
1. Do I have to apply just H-1 transfer or (H-1 Transfer + H1 extension) with company B?
2. Is there any number of weeks or period that I can be with out any pay stubs from company A after I leave them before I join company B? Will I fall 'out of status' as soon as the company A stops running pay stubs (they may not revoke immediately as my 3 yr H-1 is expiring with them soon anyway)? I am asking this because the company B may take a couple of weeks to employ me and start paying me.
3. Company B is doing good now. But who knows what will happen in this recession economy?! What are my options to be in legal status if I get laid-off by company B after H-1 transfer with them OR if the H-1 transfer to company B gets rejected for whatever reason?
Thank you for your suggestions.

AFAIK those who filed after July 30, 2007 filed with the new fee, and do not have to pay the fee for the EAD. However you can't e-file, but have to send in your paper application form.
