When renewing EAD paper filing not E-file, I had written the check in favor of USCIS instead of "U.S.Department of Homeland security" , do you think there would be a issue for them to accept the cheque?

To be 100% safe, wait for EAD.
But there are many threads where folks have given their inputs per consultation from their lawyers and have mentioned that EAD "part time" does not invalidate your regular H1 as long as you have continued with your regular H1 employment. Your case is in a grey area.

The battle for comprehensive immigration reform is going to be tough as Senate Republicans play politics with the critical immigration issue. The Senate passed its $44.3 billion fiscal 2010 Homeland Security appropriations measure 84-6 last week after three days of debate that differentiated the bill from its House companion on a handful of border security and immigration policies. Unfortunately Senate Republicans used the opportunity to add significant new provisions to the less controversial �extender provisions� including an extension to the Special Immigrant Nonminister Religious Worker Program and the Conrad Waiver Program for Physicians Serving in Underserved Areas. The Senate also included a provision promoted by AILA member Brent Renison to allow the foreign-born widows, children and parents of citizens who have died to retain their legal status to seek citizenship for two years after the death. For the second time, a federal judge has declared a Farmers Branch ordinance banning illegal immigrants from renting in the city to be unconstitutional. Here are excerpts from a Dallas Morning News (http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/news/localnews/stories/DN-FBsuit_25met.ART.Central.Edition1.4c77c2c.html) article reporting this decision:
U.S. District Judge Jane Boyle of Dallas ruled Wednesday that the ordinance was an attempt to enforce U.S. immigration laws – something the judge said only the federal government can do.
The judge also issued a permanent injunction to stop Farmers Branch from enforcing Ordinance 2952.
Mayor Tim O'Hare, the driving force behind the ordinances, said he wants to appeal.
"The American people are tired of judges legislating from the bench," he said. "This decision is not unexpected but welcomed, because it allows us to get closer to this ordinance becoming reality."
But O'Hare said the City Council would have to vote on whether to continue a fight that has cost the city nearly $3.2 million since September 2006. And the city may need to spend an additional $623,000 in legal fees in the year ahead, city finance director Charles Cox said Wednesday.
About one-quarter of the estimated 30,000 people who live in Farmers Branch were born outside the United States. About 47 percent of the city's population is Hispanic.
In the past four years, the city has proposed a series of ordinances that would make it illegal for landlords to rent to illegal immigrants. A version approved by the council in 2006 was repealed in early 2007 to make way for another ordinance.
That ordinance, No. 2903, was approved by two-thirds of voters in 2007 but later declared unconstitutional by U.S. District Judge Sam Lindsay. The city abandoned an appeal of that ordinance in favor of Ordinance 2952. No. 2952 added all rental units, including houses, to the ban on renting to illegal immigrants.

I don't know about legal risks but health-wise that sounds quite risky.

If every one thinks like you, how in the world would drugs be developed to cure the diseases? :D :) Note that before any drugs gets to the stage of human subjects research, it would have completed several trials to ensure that its safe. Adverse events may happen during the trial but in recent studies, not many.
Generally, there will be an orientation and screening before enrollments, you will get all the information at that stage and you may choose not to enroll or if you have any particular condition identified during screening, you will not even be enrolled.
Risks are very minimum. Good luck.

Hi,
My spouse's GC application is pending 485 stage with PD of Dec 2002, EB3. I got my I140 (EB2 PD Dec 2006) cleared and did not apply for 485. I am on EAD/AP through my spouse app.
My spouse passed away and 13 days later Congress passed survivng family act law, which says survivors/dependents can continue the GC app in the event the primary appliant dies. My questions are,
1. Since the law was enacted after my spouse's death am I eligible to continue that GC app and renew my AP and EAD?
2. I am planning to go to my home country for few months (may be a year) and will come back in the middle just to renew my AP when time comes and go back again with AP. Can I stay on AP or need to apply for H1b extension which I am eligible for 3 yrs ext based on my I140 approval ?
I appreciate for any response!

Springflower, I have used Infopass for obtaining AP last year since my father was not well and was hospitalized. I requested his doctor to issue me a certificate about the situation and submitted the same in the appointment. Although it took two weeks eventually seems like it worked.

I have an H1-B from my current employer and my green card is in process. I have received my EAD.
I would like to work parttime at a different place while working fulltime with my current employer. There are soooo... many forums which talk about not using EAD with H1-B since this will cause the H1-B void.
Is there a USCIS source where we can get a clarification of using EAD with H1B? Looking forward to your replies.

Hi all,
I currently working in California and planning to move to Texas. Our company does not have a office in Texas .. so I will be working from home for the same company.
My I-140 is approved and 485 is pending for more than 180 days.
while AC-21 allows for changing employers with a different geographical location, is it OK to work for the same employer who does not have an office in a different geographical location?
Also, can we do H1B extension in this case? Any idea what my employer should show in this case if I work from home.

Today i received my EAD card, It says fingerprint not available. I have not yet received FP notice
Has this happened to anybody else, will i have to update EAD card after FP, how does this work

First EAD will have no fingerprints, since you have not gone through FP.
Its normal. Read other threads.
You will not need to update EADs, renewal next year will take care of this automatically.
