You are 100% right. IV Core also got wrong data from CIS. Core is following up with the CIS. But as you said, EB3-I will not get any spill overs. There are 45K EB3-I's and we see hardly 100-200 in this forum. We need many people and I feel still people do not realize the grave situation.
Well, EB3-I will never get spill over under current interpretation, as all EB2 needs to be current along with other categories, If you had looked at the USCIS data, EB2 numbers are higher than EB3 for China / India for folks with PD 04/05/06... and we are talking about 2-4 yrs down the line, Economy will get better and many would join the line in EB2 as well and I doubt if the dates could ever get current. This new interpretation for the allocation of the unused visa to other category / oversubscribed country seems like curse to EB3 folks. Hope this changes somehow and we need to focus on this along with other greater goals. Folks with more insight on this, please comment

I'm in a similar situation and I want to ask you if DOL withdrawn your file from the backlog center if you had a PERM application approved.
Is it Ok to have one application pending in the Backlog center and a PERM Labor certification approved if the applications are for 2 different jobs?

I am in the same situation.Posted May 7 to Arizona lock box. Received May 10 @ 11:12AM in Arizona. Check not encashed nor receipt notice received. I am going to wait for a week to 10 days before I call the Service center. Could be stacked up because of the New EAD format that is being issued.

Well....one good thing out of this is we know Kerry might be aware of our issues
and is positive towards us.
In the MA state chapter we have been focussing on Kennedy, but maybe now we should focus on Kerry as well.
What are core team's thoughts on this?
IV has not taken the credit for Kerry's inclusion.... then who did it ? Did Kerry on his own added this amendment ? I don't beleive it.... is their someone other than IV also working on our cause :confused: :confused:

Which is better-
A. Working and traveling on h1b (stamping at the consulate needed every year)

OUT OF THE 300,000 people stuck due to retrogression, only 8500 OR SO are IV members. Out of which not even a 1000 want to commit for minimum of $20/ month. Right now we only have some 120 people committed. That is really a shame!!. Then we find a few (5 or less people) asking what is IV doing with the funds?. What funds?

I filed for my wife's EAD in the late May (e-file TSC).
Receipt date is May 29th.
Soft LUD on June 6th
FP done on June 21st
no updates, no changes after that. there is no LUD after FP. It's been 66 days since filed. Does any one know if I can take Infopass appointement before I complete 90 days of pending status and see what's going on? Or do I have to wait until 90 days are complete? any experiences?

The good thing is now we are seeing some approvals, so i think everything is back moving again.

There maybe actions such as sending emails etc. However we would not be able to open a public action item unless we can have thousands of our members willing to participate in a grassroots action item. This survey intends to understand the needs of our membership for this provision and collect grassroots information.
The fact is we have a dedicated group of volunteers (and we need more) who have been trying their best to spread the message about this initiative so that a strong grass-roots support can be created leading up to launch of the public action items. So far we have around 1100 people who have responded. Based on quick calculations carried out using PERM data, it is estimated that there are at least 60K-70K EB applicants waiting to file I-485/EAD/AP (this is a very conservative estimate..the actual number could be much more). Can I apply for H4 along with H1B (my spouse)? If not, when is the earliest time I can apply for it and in average, how long will it take to change of status from F2 to H4?
Also, If I am currently under F1 visa, can I change of status to H4 while studying? Is there any requirement that I have to change of status from F1 to H4 before I complete my studying a number of specified days/months?
One more thing, I heard that if I have Canadian PR, I am allowed to work in the US, is that right? If so, how long can they work in the US?

To begin with, Slumdogs writing style is really refreshing and one day he writes a book, I may be inclined to buy it :)
But he seems to be really upset about the "Non GC house buying" group bashing ..I think the bashing is both ways. Many a time these self proclaimed SMART home owners feel that they know too much and ridicule people who haven't bought a house yet.
And the big reason people who bought homes give is they are giving their family and children a good quality of life ..And people who dont buy homes are SELFISH A** who don't care about their family and only care about saving Money.
I seriously don't understand this argument. For one i don't own a home yet. I definitely want to one day. But currently i rent a beautiful 3 bed town home with my own backyard which connects to a beautiful park. the yard is maintained by the community .. Also all the maintenance is taken care off. I am totally happy where i live..The day i feel bored i will move into a better place. So for me when i buy a house it should be much better than where i stay currently in every sense. My dream home should be truly luxurious in every sense, And i should feel that my standard of living has gone up after i buy a home. As of today my dream home in a good location is not affordable for me. So till the affordability criteria is not met, I plan to rent a nice home.
So to conclude please do not equate quality of life to buying a house. Its the people who live inside, who make a house a "HOME".

I was quite skeptical about such events myself, but after attending the previous advocacy event, I learnt that these efforts do really bear fruits. IV is graciuosly taking respinsibility for all the logistics of the event and speaking for you and me, SELFLESSLY, I must add. So, please make the effort to attend and I, for one, can assure you that you will not be disappointed and leave with a satisfaction that there are countless others who are in the same boat as you are and are making an effort to better the situation. And IV is always there to help!

My daugther's date of birth is 03/18/1988. We filed I-485 together in 02,June 2007. We all recieved I-140 approval and I-485 receipt.
